RESEARCH AND MAPPING
COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION THROUGH GAME THEORY
PLURAL was invited by IDEA school of Architecture, Nashik to engage the students in various workshops of community participation. PLURAL introduced creative ways of engaging the community by means of games that remove the inhibition that a formal survey instils and highlights critical areas of conflicts and alliances in a community project.
Four slums were documented namely,Malhar Khani,Krushi Nagar,Swar Baba Nagar and Sant Kabir Nagar. People from all age groups and gender participated in the process to reveal the condition of their living and some critical local issues. The willingness to demonstrate through actions rather than words was a vital learning for the students, espicially in thecase of issues relating to violence, drugs and religion. Some of the games invented during this process were the decibel game, the yardstick ,bangle tangle and many more.
