A century old development was in need for renewal and MHADA floated a competition to redevelop these sites under the DCR regulation 33(9) – Cluster redevelopment with larger rehab dwelling units for the existing tenants and additional housing for high income group as cross subsidy.
Innovative typologies were explored to provide a similar per capita open space back to the residents as enjoyed by them even with an increased density.
This project was carried out in collaboration with Sandeep Shikre &Associates Architects (SSA). The team won the competition for Naigao BDD Housing.
