Founders and Partners

Oormi Kapadia is an Architect and an Urban Designer and founding partner at PLURAL. She heads the Project and Policy Planning division and shares her expertise in ideas of sustainability at various scales. She is a LEED AP and a qualified TERI Griha trainer. She is currently involved in extensive research and analysis of planning institutions and mechanisms that govern six metropolises of the world. It includes defining and comparing important policy parameters that were paramount in city building. This research hopes to inform the future policy planning of Mumbai City. She is also involved in community design and place making projects with Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai. She was invited as a speaker at the UN Habitat conference in Brussels, Europe.

 

Oormi teaches as a visiting faculty in various Architectural colleges in Mumbai. She received her Masters degree in Urban Design from University of Texas at Austin.

Jasmine Saluja is an Architect Urban Designer heading an urban research laboratory at PLURAL as its founding partner. PLURAL is a collaborative approach to urban research and planning bringing together multidisciplinary professionals and government bodies to lead them into projects addressing inclusive planning, equality in shared public spaces and affordable housing. Through PLURAL she advocates on making urban policies people centric and demonstrates it through real life public projects. She is a TEDx Salon speaker and was invited to share their award winning Community land trust development model for Dharavi slums at the UN Habitat conference in Brussels, Europe. 

 

Jasmine was also the founder and co-coordinator of the Mumbai Centre of IUDI (Institute of Urban Designers-India) and continues to teach as a visiting faculty for Masters program in Urban Design at KRVIA, Mumbai. She received her Masters degree in Urban Design from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, India.

PROFILE

Plural is a group of multidisciplinary professionals interested in generating critical and lateral collaborative approach towards the urban realm. It has initiated research projects on everyday urbanism, informal living spaces, and critiques of planning policies, mapping methods of the public realm, language and the city, and others. It has participated in international competitions and exhibited works in both India and abroad.
